Ingredients:
- Jawar Flour – 2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Hot water – 1/2 cup
Steps:
- Combine the jowar flour and salt in a bowl, mix well
- Add hot water and mix well.
- Once dough cools a bit, start to knead the dough and continue to knead for at least 5 to 7 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 6-7 equal portions.
- Dust dry jawar flour over rolling board and start to pat it to flatten it in to round bread or bhakri.[ refer video Handmade Bhakri Steps ]
- Heat up tawa, place bhakri on tawa immediately applying little water to the upper surface [the side on which we applied dry flour] and spread it all over with the help of your fingers.
- Cook the bhakri just till the time water starts to evaporate from the top side of bhakri.
- Then flip bhakri, and cook from other side for just 2 minutes on low flame [ refer video Puffed Bhakti video ]
- Now roast the bhakri on direct flame
- Serve hot with Zhunka/Pitla & Buttermilk
